Our story

From the heart of Scotland

Steampunk Sheep Yarns began in 2018 with a dye pot, a stubborn streak, and a love of colours you can get lost in. Every skein is dyed by hand in small batches — which means no two are ever quite alike, and yours is truly one of a kind.

The palette leans dark and dreamy: peat greens, storm blues, rusted coppers and thistle purples, pulled from Scottish landscapes and a slightly overactive imagination.

Superwash platinum merino/nylon sock yarn (75/25, 425m per 100g), BFL DK, and seasonal one-off sets — wound, twisted and tagged by hand.

Dyed a few skeins at a time in the studio — kettle-dyed depth you can't fake at scale.

75% superwash merino, 25% nylon. 425 metres of sock-sturdy softness per 100g, plus BFL DK.
